West Texas Veterinary Specialists is the region’s premier outpatient specialty referral center, dedicated exclusively to providing advanced specialty care for dogs and cats in partnership with referring veterinarians. Based in Lubbock, we proudly serve veterinary practices throughout West Texas, the Texas Panhandle, Permian Basin, Big Country, Eastern New Mexico, and Western Oklahoma.
Our team of board-certified specialists provides advanced internal medicine, surgery, and oncology services, supported by state-of-the-art diagnostic technology including computed tomography (CT), ultrasound, echocardiography, endoscopy, fluoroscopy, laparoscopy, and advanced minimally invasive procedures. West Texas Veterinary Specialists is a referral-only practice. We do not provide routine primary care or wellness services. Instead, pets are referred to us by their family veterinarian for specialized consultation, advanced diagnostics, treatment, and surgical care.
Throughout the process, we work collaboratively with the referring veterinarian, providing timely communication and individualized recommendations. Once specialty care is complete, patients return to their primary veterinarian for ongoing medical management. In addition to in-center specialty services, we continue to provide mobile specialty services in the Lubbock area as well as teleconsultation support for referring veterinary practices throughout the region, expanding access to board-certified expertise while reducing the need for pets and their families to travel long distances.
